My Minolta 9xi

The Minolta 9xi was an advanced 35 mm single-lens reflex camera released in 1992. It incorporated the world's fastest autofocus system and had a maximum shutter speed of 1/12000 of a second. The camera has an advanced 14-zone metering system that works better then some current cameras on the market today in 2018.
The 9xi has awesome build quality that should last you a lifetime. Here are some features:
  • A rugged construction with moisture and dust sealing.
  • A shutter speed of 1/12000 of a second due to carbon-reinforced shutter blades.
  • pentaprism where information is projected directly in the image using transparent LCD technology.
  • Compatibility with xi zoom lenses having a "power zoom function", allowing for extra functionality.
  • Great synchronisation time for the full set of Minolta flashguns launched. Todays Sony flash system works perfectly on this body.

Most Minolta equipment works with the Sony cameras of today.

I have compared my images between many of my film cameras and my 9xi has more consistently better image exposure and quality (depending on film) then any of my others including Nikon F100, Nikon F90x, Canon EOS3, EOS1 and all my manual cameras.

Below is an image I took with the 9xi at the Orlando Football stadium
in Soweto South Africa.
